Program Coordinator (Tribal Youth Program)
Position: Program Coordinator (Tribal Youth Program)

Reports to: Court Clerk/Director

Department: Tribal Court

Wage Classification: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Tribal Youth Program Coordinator oversees grant-funded initiatives aimed at reducing juvenile delinquency, supporting prevention efforts, and strengthening the tribal juvenile justice system. This position provides case management services and coordinates culturally relevant programs designed to promote positive outcomes for at-risk tribal youth.

Essential Functions

· Oversee daily program operations, including planning, scheduling, and executing activities related to prevention, intervention, and holistic healing.

· Coordinate internal and external resources to expand service linkages, educational outreach, and intervention efforts for individuals in need of supportive services.

· Serve as the representative of the program in meetings, events, and community engagements.

· Initiate and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, counselors, law enforcement, and other partner organizations.

· Ensure grant objectives are achieved in a timely and compliant manner.

· Assist in developing comprehensive plans to address the needs and concerns of students, parents, and/or guardians.

· Provide general directions in the planning, analysis, and implementation of program services and initiatives.

· Assist with needs assessments and prioritize service and educational gaps.

· Coordinate activities among tribal, federal, and state agencies to ensure efficient and effective delivery of programs and resources.

· Demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in all aspects of the role.

· Prepare and submit required federal and tribal reports in accordance with grant and program requirements.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Ability to compile reports, analyze complex data, and provide informed recommendations.

· Proficient in performing basic statistical and accounting functions.

· Skilled in drafting and delivering verbal presentations.

· Ability to assign tasks, monitor performance, and manage workflow effectively.

· Knowledge of educational programs and community resources are available to students and families.

· Familiarity with federal, state, and tribal reporting requirements.

· Proficient in utilizing various computer software, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheet applications.

· Experience working with Native American students and tribal communities.

· Ability to plan, develop, and implement educational programs and initiatives.

· Skilled at identifying student challenges and recommending appropriate solutions.

· Strong decision-making and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with managers, staff, tribal officials, clients, parents, and the public, both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.

· Ability to work efficiently under pressure, organize work plans, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

· Capable of analyzing issues independently, conducting research, and resolving matters professionally.

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in social science or a related field; or a minimum of three (3) years of experience working with youth and families in crisis.

· Basic knowledge of the criminal and/or juvenile justice system.

· Familiarity with Seminole and/or Mvskoke cultural practices preferred.

· Strong public relations skills, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

· Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and the ability to meet Seminole Nation liability insurance requirements, maintaining insurability throughout employment.

· Must successfully pass a background check, with no prior felony convictions.

· Must comply with Seminole Nation Drug-Free Workplace policies.

Work Environment

Duties are primarily performed in an indoor office environment.

Physical Demands

· Position requires the physical demands of a standard office environment, including extended periods of sitting, standing, and computer use.

· Regular travel to other facilities is required.

· Must be able to operate a GSA and/or privately owned vehicle as part of job duties.
