Medical Technician
Position: Medical Technician
Reports To: OAP Director
Department: Older American Program/U.S. DHHS-TRPH
 This is a Part-Time position with No Benefits.*
Job Purpose:
Performs basic and routine daily operations for the OAP and Caregivers Programs. Drives to various destinations to make home visits for homebound participants and elders in our service area, Training trips, and center activities. Ensures safety by adhering to established department policies, procedures, and regulations.
Job Duties:
• Maintains daily logs and records of work performed and updating information necessary for daily operations.
• Occasionally work in conjunction with tribal program duties.
• Maintain record of daily visits and activities, intake documentation for OAP, Caregivers, Respite workers, and related programs.
• Verifies residential sites for participants.
• Exhibits cooperation, courtesy and a positive attitude toward the public, elders and staff.
• Coordinate with Caregivers, Respite Program, and OAP and maintain timed activities.
• Perform in-service training for Respite workers, provide individual counseling, and process referrals for other services and maintain a lending closet.
• Follows proper procedures and policies in a timely manner. Observes and follows all policies and procedures set forth in the Seminole Nation Employees Handbook and by Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Skill in the use of medical techniques necessary for services.
• Skills in medical care, screening, well checks, taking Blood pressure, glucose monitors, minor wound care, COVID testing.
• Skill to drive vehicles in all weather conditions ensuring that all vehicles are maintained in a safe operating condition.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Knowledge of rules of the road and road signage.
• Knowledgeable of the community, and surrounding areas.
• Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of the elderly.
• Ability to drive safely and efficiently while observing all designated speed limits and driving laws while operating vehicles.
• Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.
• Ability to respond to and remain calm in an emergency or crisis situation.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Work Environment:
• Work is performed in an interior office environment.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• Travel within and outside of the area is required.
• The noise level is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
• Use of back, arms, hands while working with participants.
• Position may require lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
• High School diploma/GED required.
• Certified and/or Licensed in the medical field.
• Six months to one-year related work experience.
• Must be able to pass a TB screening.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with ability to meet Seminole Nation liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
• Must be able to pass background check, with no prior convictions and/or felonies.
• Must be able to comply with the Seminole Nation Drug Free Workplace policies.
